Yarn Spinning

I went to Ariadné Műhely to learn how to spin yarn in the ancient way. This is such a fulfilling, relaxing activity. Totally clears your mind, your thoughts getting structured, it is just sucking the stress out of me.
We have started from the scratch, from when the wool comes straight from the animal, then wash it, comb it, dye it, spin it, twist it... and I go further to crochet it ;)
Honestly, if you haven't tried to spin yarn yet, try it!! Don't expect too much form yourself in the first place, this also needs some practice, but it is so much pleasure!!
Have a look at the yarns I made lately.
Tenger - Sea

Dragon Gloves

This winters favourite are the dragon gloves! Many people asked me to do these for them. To be honest, normally I do not work for orders, but the girls, who asked me, helped me so much during hard time... so I couldnt say no.
Once I had the prototype, it was easy to make them, so this year my sister-in-law and my cousine got these for xmas, Anne, my sister-in-low couldn`t bevieve it, just stared at them with round eyes :D and kept on saying how beautiful they were.
I guess she still has them on :)

Ráró - the Horse out of African Flower hexagons

Ráró - the horse made out of African Flowers! This project I made in the finish of the Video Course project, just for a little break from the crochet basic stitches, video editing, cutting and so on...
It was really refreshing, and fun! :)

Mallow Flower Foundation Flowers

These flowers are for the Mályvavirág Alapítvány (Mallow Flower Foundation, helping women to fight cervical cancer), as a badge, or sign of membership.
The Mallow flower is symbolising the strong and beautiful women as we are. These badges are also given for donations, and quite popular I can say.
I have chosen this pattern after weeks of thinking. The mallow flower has 5 petals, and a longish pistil, which is very determinitve.

Trousseaud

Picture
In the old times, when a baby girl was born, the women of the community started to make her trousseaud, which she used from she got married, rest of her life. The rousseaud included all the household textiles, a family needs, bedsheets, table clothes, towels, etc. This nice tradition is still lurking somewhere deep inside of us. This pillow I gave to my dear friend Kasia, as a wedding gift, and trust me, she was really very happy ;)

Who said crochet must be dusty and boring?! With some experience, amazing fine jewelleries and beauty stuff can be made! This is not at all complicated, only – mostly – smaller, or needs a bit of extra touch, but the result definitely worth it! The unique look is priceless!
