This baby girl is really close to my heart. Her parents are good friends of mine since many years and continents by now.
She was born beginning of summer, and this is when I started to crochet this blanket for her, out of purely flowers. The yarn is a hand-died pure merino wool.
I have made tons of these flowers, until at one point Mici, my dog decided to have a rest in the middle of the carefully positioned flowers, just before I started to saw them together :) Obviously she has ruined my order totally... but this also shows, the blanket has a good energy, all my good thoughts, wishes, visions are crocheted into them, to support and guard this young gorgeous lady in her early ages. <3
Getting ready for Xmas!
Kasia, my friend corrected my English, and also tried if she can make the Snowflake, based on the book I made. And yes, she managed, so I have uploaded the book into Amazon Kindle store! And I have the first sales within 24 hours! This is just an amazing feeling :) You can buy it by clicking on the red button.
I have finished my first kindle e-book about how to crochet a Puff Flower!
In this book I guide the reader through the whole process step-by-step, and while this is not for totally beginners, if the basic stitches are going well, with this guide it will be easy.
I wanted to find a a pattern which is a challenge, hence actually easy to do. I chose finally the puff flower, which caused me some headache back then, trying to figure out, how it is done really. The puff flower is not so easy to figure out at the first look, hence if you know the trick, it is actually pretty simple to make.
The book has 42 photos about every single step, and with every photo, excessive explanation comes along.
The price is: 5.07 $
I have a campaign, to try out different craft techniques. I have been following Judits workshops Facebook posts for fairly long now (more then a year..) and the time has came, I signed in for a weaving day.
I was weaving when I was small, I mean really small. I was 4 when my sister was born, and I already weaved a scarf for her I remember. I had a toy loom.
All the memories came back. I remembered crystal clear how was the edge of the scarf, that I was wondering how to make it nicer...
This scarf was inspired by the sea. Judit said I am quite talented, but let's be honest, I was kinda sure about that, I would have been pretty disappointed otherwise.
The trick is weaving is the constant effort. So the lines dont get messy. Well, I can see this is not a 100% product, but for a start it is good enough :)
The muse was the sea, hence I was a diving instructor. The greens are the dark green plants, coral, the white, and the blue, shiny blue is the mother of pearl inside...
There is something magical with weaving, and I needed it very much. I was in hospital in May, and I am still recovering.
So weaving is just the perfect thing to do. While you are working, you get in a meditative state, your mind, your thoughts get in order, while you make order from the mess in the weaving as well.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed, and will be back again for sure!

Finally I finishet cutting the Granny Square bag project!! So far it is in Hungarian, but a friend of mine voluteered to dub it. You can ask, why a friend, why not me, hence I speak English?
I have a terrible accent, when I want to speak slow, and me myself cannot listen to it even :)
When I record it while making, its ok, but other wise, when I concentrate on speaking slowly, it is awful!
So now you have to wait only a little!
This paper yarn is new at our local yarn shop. I had to try obviously. The paper stripe is thin, smooth and flexible, easy to work with, but pretty strong the same time, and it didnt break, regardless how strongly I pulled it. Actually I didnt try to break it… mistake, I will try how much power is needed to break it – good to know.
I checked Pinterest and Google for samples, and I couldnt find much about it, here are some examples:
It can be used as rafia, but much lighter and nicer to work with it. This is how I succeeded with my first project. I plan to buy one white ball too, to have a larger brim, for a nice stylish female sun hat.
Here is the Sunday mornings result:
I am running out of the basic stitches to make video tutorials of, so a bit more advanced crochet techniques are coming: puff and popcorn stitches. Obviously I had to make flowers out of them, and no doubt, the puff flower became the number one winner as my video crew concerns :)
I have made quite a few flowers, and been thinking what to make out of them… until this week my name sister – Mila Emese was born in Denmark, gorgeous daughter of my dear friends, Elvira and Kjeld, so the plan is forming, I need to make a baby blanket out of puff flowers… it will be super cute I am sure :)
The video tutorials will come out, just needs some editing… and yes, still translation to English. Now that is a challenge yet, but should be able to climb this too!!
I am volunteering at the Mályvavirág (Hibiscus) Foundation, which is supporting woman healing from cervical cancer. The foundation is still quite new, and cannot collect 1% donations from the annual tax.
So we had to come up with an idea, how to collect donation, and my idea was to make these badges - hibiscus badges - for donation, so the supporters can have something in return, and wear these sweeties proudly.
I am very happy to say, the plan worked very well, and the badges are making nice income month by month.
I was asked to make a video about how this flower is made, so we will record it on the tomorrow shooting ;)
Here are some of the previous ones:
This project is almost finishing, which means I can cut the final video for it. On the first shooting, I was teaching the treble crochet, and this sudden idea popped up, to make an easy granny square - using the just learned technique. This yarn is just amazing, aout of felt, hand dyed, having colours of the deep sea - and those who knows, I am a diving instructor, understands - this is very close to my heart!
The pachwork bad is assembled, now just the final touches are missing: the irich crochet rose, and the handlers. These will come on this Sunday shooting.
I am hesitating to carry on, and to put lining inside... it would be even more fun, but if so, must be later, because new projects are calling!
This is going to be still in Hungarian language, but very soon I am going to do the English translations for all my videos.
So hang in there!
Its spring time, just perfect to make some flowers!! ;)
Hello, my name is Emese.
