This baby girl is really close to my heart. Her parents are good friends of mine since many years and continents by now. She was born beginning of summer, and this is when I started to crochet this blanket for her, out of purely flowers. The yarn is a hand-died pure merino wool. I have made tons of these flowers, until at one point Mici, my dog decided to have a rest in the middle of the carefully positioned flowers, just before I started to saw them together :) Obviously she has ruined my order totally... but this also shows, the blanket has a good energy, all my good thoughts, wishes, visions are crocheted into them, to support and guard this young gorgeous lady in her early ages. <3 | |

This paper yarn is new at our local yarn shop. I had to try obviously. The paper stripe is thin, smooth and flexible, easy to work with, but pretty strong the same time, and it didnt break, regardless how strongly I pulled it. Actually I didnt try to break it… mistake, I will try how much power is needed to break it – good to know. I checked Pinterest and Google for samples, and I couldnt find much about it, here are some examples: It can be used as rafia, but much lighter and nicer to work with it. This is how I succeeded with my first project. I plan to buy one white ball too, to have a larger brim, for a nice stylish female sun hat.
