I have a campaign, to try out different craft techniques. I have been following Judits workshops Facebook posts for fairly long now (more then a year..) and the time has came, I signed in for a weaving day.
I was weaving when I was small, I mean really small. I was 4 when my sister was born, and I already weaved a scarf for her I remember. I had a toy loom.
All the memories came back. I remembered crystal clear how was the edge of the scarf, that I was wondering how to make it nicer...
This scarf was inspired by the sea. Judit said I am quite talented, but let's be honest, I was kinda sure about that, I would have been pretty disappointed otherwise.
The trick is weaving is the constant effort. So the lines dont get messy. Well, I can see this is not a 100% product, but for a start it is good enough :)
The muse was the sea, hence I was a diving instructor. The greens are the dark green plants, coral, the white, and the blue, shiny blue is the mother of pearl inside...
There is something magical with weaving, and I needed it very much. I was in hospital in May, and I am still recovering.
So weaving is just the perfect thing to do. While you are working, you get in a meditative state, your mind, your thoughts get in order, while you make order from the mess in the weaving as well.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed, and will be back again for sure!
